Sirius satellite? What are some mounting options for a Sirius satellite radio for a Honda Accord? I have the car kit that mounts to the winshield but I don't like all the wires. money maker wanna be replied: "try not to be intimidated by the wires. they give you instructions for a reason (unless you got it used, if you don't have instructions i think someone in a store that sells what you have like maybe "Visions"?), just try the best you can to follow the directions, that's basically all you can do. unless you get it installed by a professional or a Friend."

I also have a Honda Accord, 97'. In that link there is a guy with a 97 who took the ashtray out and drilled a hole running the wires back and connecting the power directly to the car battery, thus eliminating the need for the cigarette lighter adapter wires and other wires being inside behind the console. Very good idea I think. Unless you want your unit to be very portable. I have found the need to move mine which makes me hesitate to make it permenant and I havent taken the rubber things out of the roof and installed the antenna either for this reason.

The salesman didnt say anything about a trial period or the service expiring, but it is my understanding that for satellite radio, the car owner has to pay a subscription. Today SIRI and XMSR trade as two stocks. Look back about a year and see the levels that they traded at. XMSR and SIRI had a big run up. Do I need to install an atenna each place I put the receiver? Abster replied: "We've had Sirius for two years now. It works great in the car, great in the boombox, but so-so at the house. You just have to make sure the receiver is placed properly. If we mounted the house receiver better I'm sure it would be better. We have the starmate and the only thing I have trouble with is finding a station with no fuzz - my starmate won't get the low FM station numbers but my husband's does (89.5 or something) and his has no fuzz. You'll need the car kit for sure and make sure you check out The Sirius Store (not linked from the Sirius site - search google) for your car accessories - i.e. the radio mount for your vehicle - I have a mounted swivel for mine, I don't like the suction cup. red replied: "This Q: was answered already and the answer still is mount it in the front window with a Little clear silicon or push the antenna cable under the rubber molding (try not to rip it as it will leek)or just through the antenna cable on the front dash and tape it down with black tape.. your fantasy will help you with the rest....."

Oh, and never push anything through the rubber molding of a window."
Jason C replied: "Well, it could be a couple of problems, of which the previous comments have answered. By the way I have used the clear silicone to seal the antenna wire to the base and it works great as silicone is a semi-conductor (computer chips).
However, there could be another issue at hand. Is your radio connected to the satellite unit, or do you use the FM modulator? If you use the FM modulator you will get interference from other radio stations along with other electrical interference. If you haven't connected your sirius straight to the radio, I recommend it as it gives a crisper reception along with no interference from radio stations. The only way to hook this up is to have an auxiliary port on your radio. Hope this helps." My mom's boyfriend was talking to me, saying there was a rumor going around his work that if he were to cancel his subscription to Sirius Satellite, in exactly three months the music would come back on. He's willing to try for he barely ever uses it, but does anyone know before he does cancel it?
